Africa

1.     This article was truely inspiring and beautiful that Nick Brandt (the photographer) takes pictures like he does and how vivid and broad they are.  In the article it says " he does not use a telephoto lens, but rather ventures up close to these untamed and dangerous animals. " That makes these pictures even more amazing then they already are, to know that these pictures were actually taken right in front of these brilliant animals and not edited or anything like that.

2.
3.      This photo is definitely one of my favorite pictures from Nick Brandt because i think it just shows the meaning or importance of family and that you're not alone. And these animals are very beautiful and are taken for granted a lot so that's why this is my favorite.
4.  In this picture one of the rules it shows is the rule of thirds because it really focuses on the two lions and they are the main subject in this photo.
 5.   Nick Brandt uses a Pentax 67II  with two fixed lenses. This is important because he photographs on a medium-format black and white film without telephoto or zoom lenses. Because when he's out in the wild and he's taking pictures of these animals he needs a camera that is good and helpful.
6.  Because needed a camera that could take a picture from a 100 ft away and still look good. Other cameras couldn't do that. He says "You wouldn't take a portrait of a human being from a hundred feet away and expect to capture their spirit; you'd move in close."

7. His hope while he takes these photos is to show people that these animals are beautiful and
that many animals are being killed everyday by man. And by taking these pictures he hopes to
stop this.  Also he wanted to create an elegy of the natural world and the (animals) living on it.
8.  "You wouldn't take a portrait of a human being from a hundred feet away and expect to capture their spirit; you'd move in close."
9.  Brandt was driven by a comment on the natural world’s extraordinary speed of destruction.
10.     he waited for days until people settled down and no longer looked at the piece and made an
organization named the BIG LIFE.
11.  This might decrease the problems that Kenya, China, and Africa are faced with. Like waste a lot of animals homes are destroyed and the chemicals from this waste can kill animals.
12. These photos made me very sad as i scrolled through them because i would see all of the waste and trash that was in those areas and then i'd see the pictures of the animals that used to live and roam there because these animals don't have a home or place to live and many people are killing these animals.
